Description

This faucet with aerator is also known as a washing machine valve or dishwasher valve. A faucet with aerator ensures that when negative pressure occurs in the pipe, water from the washing machine or dishwasher does not flow back into the drinking water supply. As soon as negative pressure occurs, the valve's flap is sucked open, breaking the connection with the attached hose and preventing water from flowing back from the washing machine or dishwasher.
The tap also has a check valve, providing an extra level of safety. The check valve offers an additional layer of protection by physically preventing backflow.

Using both an aerator and a check valve creates double protection. This means that should one system fails, the other would still provide protection. This further minimises the risk of cross-contamination and backflow, which is crucial for the safety and quality of drinking water.

Leakage?

If the faucet with aerator leaks after installation, it may not have been properly flushed. You can easily fix this by removing the aerator from the faucet with a spanner (16 mm). Handle the two parts of the aerator with care to prevent damage and further leakage. Rinse the parts, especially the black O-rings, thoroughly under cold water, separately from each other. After reassembling the parts, use a spanner to reattach the air valve back into the valve.
