Description

This Girair threaded end is used in compressed-air piping systems. The blue colour indicates that it is suitable for compressed air.

Properties

The Girair compressed-air coupling is resistant to static and alternating pressure, and tensile forces, and is maintenance-friendly and completely leak-proof.

Material

The PVR material is fully recyclable.

Fire safety

The Girair system is flame retardant in accordance with class M2 and fire class B-s1, d0.

Installation

Being lightweight, the Girair threaded end is quick and easy to install. The coupling has a glue socket x male thread connection. Installing the system will require: a pipe cutter, a deburrer, and cold-weld polymer adhesive.

The installation is done in just a few steps:
  • Cut the pipe to size using a pipe cutter for plastic pipes.
  • Bevel the edge and deburr the ends with a PVC deburrer.
  • Mark the insertion depth.
  • Clean both ends with a cleaner.
  • Apply a thin layer of cold-weld polymer adhesive to the pipe and fitting up to the insertion depth, slide the fitting straight over the pipe (without twisting) and hold it in place for a few seconds.
After installation and drying time, a pressure test should be performed. The test lasts 12 hours, during which no pressure drop may be observed. The test pressure should be 1.5 times the working pressure, with a maximum of 12.5 bar.

Please note: The Girair system is not suitable for medicinal air, flammable gases, or non-silicon applications.
