Description

This Girair polymer adhesive is a quick-drying adhesive and is used with Girair piping systems.

Use

A brush is supplied with the cold weld polymer adhesive.
  • Cut the pipe to size using a pipe cutter for plastic pipes and bevel the edge.
  • Deburr the ends and mark the insertion depth.
  • Check that the pipe/fitting is dry and free of dust and grease.
  • Clean the parts to be bonded with a suitable cleaner and clean cloth.
  • Apply a thin layer of cold-weld polymer adhesive to the pipe and fitting up to the insertion depth, slide the fitting straight over the pipe (without twisting) and hold it in place for a few seconds.
After installation and drying time, a pressure test should be performed. The test lasts 12 hours, during which no pressure drop may be observed. The test pressure should be 1.5 times the working pressure, with a maximum of 12.5 bar.

Please note: The Girair system is not suitable for medicinal air, flammable gases, or non-silicon applications.
